Voluntary resignations shall be tendered through registered letter to the mayor with copy to the representative of the State. They shall be final on the date of acknowledgement of receipt by the mayor or, failing such acknowledgement, within a period not exceeding 1 (one) month with effect from the date of tendering a new resignation as established by registered letter.
