Members of the Regional Executive Council shall take oath before the
competent Court of Appeal before assuming their duties. The oath, pronounced in
English, shall read as follows: "I swear on honour and pledge to serve the interests of
the region and to loyally and faithfully discharge my duties without discrimination or
favouritism, in compliance with the law and in accordance with the values of
democracy, and the principles of unity and integrity of the Republic.”
