SECTION 280

Proceedings instituted against a debtor shall stop the running of the time limit with regard to a co-debtor who is jointly and severally liable, where the creditor informs the latter in writing of the institution of such proceedings before the expiry of the period of limitation. Where proceedings are instituted by a sub-purchaser against the purchaser, the period of limitation shall stop running regarding the purchaser’s action against the vendor where the purchaser has informed the vendor in writing before the expiry of the said period of the institution of such proceedings.
