Any cooperative shall have a purpose that consists of its business which must be defined and
described in its articles.
The purpose of the cooperative must be lawful.
When the business carried out by the cooperative is regulated, it shall comply with the specific
rules governing such business.
The corporate purpose may be changed for each form of cooperative under the conditions provided
for by this Uniform Act for the amendment of the Articles of Association.
