The union of cooperativesmay engage in all economic activities. However, such economic
activities shall be carried out in compliance with the principle of subsidiarity in connection with
the activities of cooperativeaffiliates.
In coordination with its federation or confederation or in the absence of the latter, the union
shall perform all or part of the duties assigned to a federation and confederation in respect with
the cooperative affiliates.
