Where the intermediary acts on behalf of the principal within the scope of his authority and third
parties knew or should have known of his status as an intermediary, his acts shall directly bind
the principal to the third party unless it results from circumstances of the case, particularly by
reference to a commission or brokerage contract, that the intermediary only intended to bind
himself.
