SECTION 483

(1) The Registrar-in-Chief who receives the notice of appeal shall notify the Legal Department of the Court of Appeal and the other parties by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt or by any other means leaving written proof in the case file. He shall make a report in respect thereof. (2) The report drawn up in four copies shall, in addition to mentioning the notice of appeal, also mention the notification provided for in section 479 (1). (3) A copy of the report shall be addressed to the appellant and to the Registrar-in-Chief of the Supreme Court who shall open a case file upon receiving it. Courtesy of the Cameroon Center for Demoncracy and Human Rights – CCDHR: www.ccdhr.org 111 (4) Where the notice of appeal was received by the Registrar-in-Chief of the Supreme Court, he shall address a copy of the report to the Registrar-in-Chief of the Court of Appeal, the judgment of which has been appealed against. The latter shall mention the fact of the appeal on the margin of the said judgment.
