The arbitral tribunal shall rule on its own jurisdiction, including any objections with respect to
the existence or validity of the arbitration agreement.
An objection that the arbitral tribunal lacks jurisdiction shall be raised before the submission of
the statement of defence except the facts on which it is based were revealed subsequently.
The arbitral tribunal may rule on its own jurisdiction in an award on the merits or in a partial
award subject to recourse for annulment.
