Law n°2014/016 of 18 July 2014 laying down the Standing Orders of the National Assembly › Chapter 14

SECTION 91 — (1) Besides the Committees of Enquiry referred to in the subsections above, the National Assembly may set up a Committee of Enquiry on a subject touching on public finance for a period not exceeding 6 (six) months.

Such a period shall be renewable if need be. (2) The Bureau of the National Assembly shall designate Members of the Committee of Enquiry so set up and special rapporteurs of the sector concerned. (3) Such a Committee of Enquiry shall enjoy the powers provided for by the State's financial regime. It may request assistance from any person it chooses and grant hearings. (4) With the exception of the President of the Republic, persons invited for hearing shall be bound to obey. Any obstruction of the investigation of a Committee of Enquiry shall be considered an obstacle to the discharge of a public service duty.
