SECTION 290

(1) Any person who enters a polling station with a visible weapon shall be punished with a fine of 25 000 (twenty-five thousand) CFA francs and imprisonment of from 10 (ten) days to 2 (two) months or only one of the two penalties. (2) The imprisonment term may be extended to 4 (four) months, and the fine to 500 000 (five hundred thousand) if the weapon is hidden.
