SECTION 123

(1) Candidacy papers shall be submitted in duplicate, within 10 (ten) days of the date of convening of electors. (2) Candidacy papers shall be submitted to the General Directorate of Elections. They may also be submitted to the Regional Branches of Elections Cameroon, which shall forward them within 24 (twenty- four) hours to the General Directorate of Elections. (3) A copy thereof shall be forwarded forthwith to the Constitutional Council by the candidate or his representative, against an acknowledgement of receipt. (4) Candidacy papers may further be delivered by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt, which shall be addressed to the General Directorate of Elections with a copy sent to the Constitutional Council, provided that such registered letter is received within the time-limit provided for in Sub-section (1) above. (5) Where candidacy papers are submitted, a provisional receipt shall be issued. Where they are forwarded by registered mail, the acknowledgement of receipt shall stand in lieu thereof.
