SECTION 315

(1) A confession is a statement made at any time by an accused in which he admits that he committed the offence with which he is charged. (2) A confession shall not be admissible in evidence if it is obtained through duress, violence, or intimidation or in exchange of a promise for any benefit whatsoever or by any other means contrary to the free will of the maker of the confession. (3) A voluntary confession shall constitute evidence against the person who made it (4) The probative value of a confession shall be left to the appreciation of the court which may however admit or reject it only by a reasoned decision.
