(1) Under the authority of a Sub-Director, the Sub-Department
for Criminal Legislation shall be responsible for:
- drafting and updating bills and statutory instruments in criminal matters;
- collecting and exploiting international conventions, Community legal
instruments and ensuring their integration into national laws;
- collecting and exploiting jurisprudence in criminal matters;
- studying bills and statutory instruments in criminal matters drafted by
other Ministries or Organizations and Institutions and submitted for the
Ministry’s opinion;
- verifying the legal conformity of the Ministry’s commitments.
(2) In addition to the Sub-Director, the Sub-Department for Criminal
Legislation shall comprise three (3) Assistant Research Officers.
