Law n°2014/016 of 18 July 2014 laying down the Standing Orders of the National Assembly › Chapter 2

SECTION 12

(1) Any member whose electoral mandate has been verified may resign from his office. (2) The resignation of a member before verification of his mandate shall not deprive the National Assembly of the right to proceed with such verification. (3) Resignations during the legislative period shall be addressed to the President of the National Assembly who shall accordingly inform the House at the next sitting. (4) A resignation shall be accepted by the National Assembly, which may not refuse such resignation where it establishes that the Member of the National Assembly is resigning from his office of his own free will.
