SECTION 120

(1) A National Commission on Industrial Health and Safety shall be set up under the ministry in charge of labour. (2) It shall be charged with the study of problems related to industrial medicine and the hygiene and safety of workers. In this capacity, it shall be responsible for; • (a) making suggestions and recommendations concerning laws and regulations to be made in the above fields ; • (b) making recommendations for the benefit of employers and workers, insurance bodies and various ministries concerning the protection of the health of workers; • (c) making proposals concerning the approval of dangerous machinery and manufacturing processes likely to endanger the health of workers ; • (d) carrying out or participating in any work of a scientific nature falling within its sphere of activity.
