Under the authority of an Inspector General, the Inspectorate
General of Penitentiary Administration shall be responsible for:
- the internal monitoring and evaluation of the functioning of institutions
under the authority and projects related to the Penitentiary Administration;
- informing the Minister, the Minister Delegate and the Secretary of State
on the quality of the functioning and output of services related to the
Penitentiary Administration;
- evaluating the application of organization techniques and methods and
simplifying the administrative work in conjunction with the services in
charge of the administrative reform;
- implementing the strategy for fight against corruption in the Penitentiary
Administration;
- monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the penitentiary policy.
(2) In addition to the Inspector General of the Penitentiary Administration,
the Inspectorate General of Penitentiary Administration shall comprise five (5)
Inspectors, five (5) Controllers and one (1) Secretary for Missions, all of them
Civil Servants of the Penitentiary Administration.
