(1) Under the authority of a Director, the Department for Human
Rights and International Cooperation shall be responsible for:
- following-up issues relating to human rights, the fight against torture,
cruel, inhuman or degrading treatments and cooperation, especially with
international partners of the Ministry of Justice, in coordination with
Administrations and Institutions concerned;
- following-up the implementation international conventions and bilateral
agreements relating to human rights and concerning the prevention and
repression of crime, the treatment of offenders, the repression of crimes
against humanity, war crimes and genocide and other human rights
violations in conjunction with Administrations and organizations
concerned;
- following-up activities of the International Court of Justice, the
International Criminal Court and United Nations High Commissioner for
Human Rights, in conjunction with the Ministry of External Relations;
- following-up the activities of the National Commission for Human Rights
and Freedoms.
(2) The Department of Human Rights and International Cooperation shall
comprise:
- the Sub-Department for Human Rights;
- the Sub-Department for International Cooperation;
- the Card Index and Filing Office.
