The cooperative shall be formed and managed in accordance with the following universally recognized cooperative principles:
- voluntary membership and open to all;
- democratic member control;
- economic participation of members;
- autonomy and independence;
- education, training and information;
- cooperation between cooperative organizations;
- voluntary commitment to the community.
Discrimination based on sex, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation is prohibited.
